Sherman West Court opened in 1991 as a 120-bed independent and skilled nursing care facility. It is located at 1950 Larkin Ave. in Elgin, and now offers 74 rehabilitation beds and 38 skilled nursing beds, with private room options. Services include rehabilitation, long-term care, respite and hospice services, as well as short-term post-acute care. The facility sees nearly 1,000 admissions each year.

West Court has received the highest possible overall rating of 5 stars from US News & World Report’s annual “Best Nursing Homes Report”, multiple years in a row. The RN assumes primary responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing plan of care for participants at the Skilled Nursing Facility.
This individual demonstrates clinical knowledge at the unit level and begins to apply this knowledge to a specific patient population. Positively influences practice and serves as a role model in the clinical setting. Anticipates changes in patient situations and intervenes appropriately.

Assuring/Improving Quality Care: Facilitates the patient and family's right to receive quality, cost effective care

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
Good time management and organizational skills
Current Illinois RN license
Ability to transport objects, patients, and equipment
Ability to respond quickly to patient needs and work at fast pace
Work environment includes probability of exposure to adverse, hazardous, or unpleasant conditions while caring for the sick
Ability to assist in evacuation of patients in the event of a fire or other disaster
Routinely works with potentially infectious specimens and patients
Ability to respond to patients in a timely manner and access all areas of the unit
Ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally and/or in excess of 50 pounds frequently and/or in excess of 20 pounds constantly
If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis.
