ACL Laboratories serves patients in two states for the recently merged Advocate Aurora Health Care System. ACL laboratories served both systems (Advocate Health Care in Illinois, and Aurora Health Care in Wisconsin) for nearly 20 years prior to the merger as well.


This position is responsible for signing out Cytogenetics & Molecular Pathology cases, communicating with clinicians, maintaining and improving the quality of current methodologies as well as evaluating and making recommendations on all new methodologies and diagnostic systems.


Applicants must possess:

  • PhD in relevant biological or medical sciences required.
  • ABMGG board certified or board eligible in clinical cytogenetics required, preference given to candidates with additional board certification or eligibility in clinical molecular genetics or Laboratory Genetics and Genomics
  • 2-4 years of experience in a clinical cytogenetics lab, however preference will be given to candidate with greater than 5 years of experience.
  • Familiarity with standard cytogenetics methods, workflow and experience in new test development.
  • Good management and leadership skills, including team building & communication as well as an ability to work well with others.
  • Familiarity with laboratory regulations & healthcare finances.
  • Strong computer literacy & must be accessible for consultation
