Position Requirements:
1~2 years HIM experience.
Interest and exposure to quality improvement, data collection or research design and analysis
Demonstrated understanding of medical terminology,
Educational knowledge of ICD9 and CPT codes.

Experience in health information management.
Knowledge of various record retrieval and filing systems.
Experience with record review.
Experience with medical terminology.
Experience using spreadsheet or database programs
Good interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with a wide variety of people

Ability to work on computer for long periods.

Proven history of punctuality and ability to adhere to a structured work schedule.

Purpose:
The EMPI (Enterprise Master Patient Index) Analyst is responsible for reconciliation and consolidation of duplicate medical records from EMRs throughout the Advocate system, including those from the hospitals, AMG, Dreyer, and independent APP physicians on SynAPPs.

This individual's role is designed to ensure that medical records are matched from the various systems. This leads to improved efficiency and safety, and is a critical function in ensuring that the registry data from our covered lives is captured accurately and matched to the appropriate person and physician.

The incumbent will ultimately be responsible for reduced duplication of records and ensure continuity throughout the Advocate system.
