Position Requirements:
Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Business Administration or
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Business Analytics or
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Actuarial Science or related field.
Experience Required:
Typically requires 3 years of experience in databases and querying, database visualization and data analysis.
Experience with MS~Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Communicates effectively.
Desire to learn with strong intellectual curiosity.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others as part of a team.
Demonstrates critical thinking, ability to problem solve, and is results oriented.
Knowledge of basic statistics.
Customer service orientation.
Ability to work independently with some supervision.
This position requires travel, therefore, will be exposed to weather and road conditions.
Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.

Purpose:
Responsible for evaluating trends, developing and applying knowledge of specific measure definitions, and becoming proficient working with claims, clinical, and administrative data. This position uses software and query skills to develop and maintain complex reporting systems that help monitor and improve performance on governmental and commercial shared savings and full risk insurance contracts. This position works closely on a team to facilitate and drive efficient data mining, analysis, and system~wide reporting. The Cost and Utilization Analyst establishes standard report production and validation processes while also responding to ad hoc requests for data and information from executives and other leaders throughout the system. This position produces relevant dashboards and participates in developing performance improvement strategies essential to the success of population health initiatives.

Accountabilities:
Create and maintain reports on key cost and utilization performance metrics.
Accurately create and update report~related documents with current definitions, baselines, benchmarks, targets, current performance, and references.
Demonstrate ability to quickly and independently learn and adopt new software tools and query data systems (data warehouse or other database and reporting systems), and demonstrate mastery of one or more query languages (e.g., SQL, R, Python, SAS).
Produce the monthly population health index reports, scorecard, report card, utilization management reports, monthly operating review reports, and accompanying support materials.
Possess and maintain knowledge of core information systems and underlying data used in reporting.
Produce accurate recurring and ad hoc reports within established deadlines.
Make improvements to reports or reporting systems that increase production efficiency or clarity of visual displays.
Provide customer support to promote the use of currently available tools, resources, and reports.
Appropriately apply basic statistical methods (e.g., measures of central tendency, confidence intervals, percentiles) to explore and summarize data.
Create clear, accurate reports by establishing and executing validation processes and production checklists.
Assume responsibility for maintaining current knowledge of government regulations, policies, and trends that affect the health care industry, and independently conduct online research to access
