Purpose:
The Outpatient Care Mgmt Department is a key part of Advocate Aurora's Population Health strategy. The department enters and uses data from a multitude of systems. The Clinical Data Analyst II is responsible for the creation or updating of reports and queries under the direction of the Clinical Informatics Administrator, Manager of Outpatient Care Management and the Director of Outpatient Care Management. This position requires complex analysis of clinical and financial metrics to help determine staff performance, Key Result Area (KRA) outcomes and key quality control of the Care Manager workflows.
The Clinical Data Analyst II will also provide support to the Outpatient Care Management department for application support and issue reporting.

Accountabilities:

  • Supports the various data needs of the Outpatient Care Management Department to include the clinical and operation leaders for data aggregation and reporting to include: Define, validate, and manage measures and data related to utilization and population health management. Develop and maintain expertise in measure definition as the cornerstone for reporting.
  • Technology Solutions: Implement or manage computer programs, applications, and decision support systems.
  • Educating and Training: Effectively communicates with and responds to customers, team members, and key leaders, providing in~depth, thoughtful knowledge transfer and consultation.

 

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science or Healthcare Administration
  • 3+ years of related work experience
  • 1+ years work experience in managed healthcare/healthcare analytics
  • Experience with database querying in SQL
  • Experience in report writing in Business Objects and Tableau
  • Collaboration with other analytics teams within the organization to ensure accurate collecting and recording of data
  • Proficient with MS~Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Desire to learn with strong intellectual curiosity
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others as part of a team
  • Proven critical thinking skills and the ability to problem solve independently
  • Understanding of basic statistics
  • Ability to work independently with some supervision
  • Travel within the Advocate Network at times for meetings and conferences. Some early morning and late evening meeting attendance.
