REHAB AIDE II - PEDIATRIC THERAPIES, AdvocateAurora Health, Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge, IL. 

  • Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge, IL
  • Full-Time - 36 hours/week
  • Day/PM Shift - Mon - Thurs 9a-6p; Fri. 10a-4:30p 
  • Will cover inpatient and outpatient areas, but mainly outpatient

 

Position Requirements:

  • High School Education
  • 1 year of experience as a Rehab Aide or Rehab Technician
  • Prefer Pediatric Rehab Aide experience.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Competency in all Rehab Aide I duties.
  • Not Applicable The physical demand level and degree of strenuous activity ranges from occasional sedentary work to regular heavy work involving moving/lifting of patients.
  • Ability to perform very heavy lifting ~ Up to 100 pounds occasionally and/or in excess of 50 pounds frequently and/or in excess of 20 pounds constantly.
  • Ability to assist, escort, transfer, and respond to patient needs for extended periods of time.
  • May be exposed to hazardous materials and life~threatening diseases.
  • Exposure to risk of blood~borne pathogens.
  • May be subjected to varying and unpredictable situations.
  • This requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 08/01/2014. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis.

 

Purpose:

Assists, as directed, licensed therapists with delivery aspects of patient care. Supportive patient care is performed and provided under the direct supervision of licensed staff. Individual also supports therapy staff to assist with other general departmental activities.


Accountabilities:

  • Performance of patient transportation and routine errands between various rehabilitation settings
  • Performance of basic patient transfer techniques to facilitate patient care.
  • Performance of daily maintenance routines for various rehabilitation departments
  • Performance of providing/assisting with clerical responsibilities as directed by supervisor/therapist.
  • Preparation of patient for treatment to facilitate patient care
  • Performance of basic modality/exercise treatments.
