Position Requirements:
Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology
2~3 years of clinical experience in medical setting.
Experience with student supervision.
Advanced continuing education.
Experience in providing inservices to peers.
Good communication skills.
Independence in providing advanced level of clinical skills and expertise.

ASHA certification (CCC/A)
Illinois state licensure
0~3 Credential (for Peds patients)
May be exposed to hazardous materials and life~threatening diseases.
Direct contact with body fluids
Ability to assist, escort, transfer, and respond to patient needs for extended periods of time.
Pushing, pulling, lifting, transferring patients. Ability to perform heavy lifting (lifting 50 to 100 pounds occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds frequently and/or 10 to 20 pounds constantly.)
Weekends, early evening hour and holidays
Off campus locations

This requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 08/01/2014. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis.

To provide advanced Speech ~ Language Pathology services to patients/clients with communication and swallowing disorders. These services include assessment, treatment , discharge planning , related documentation and communication with physicians, families and other healthcare providers.
Emphasis in teaching/mentoring and assumes major project or committee responsibilities.

Responsible for all principal accountabilities of a Speech Language Pathologist I
Participation in Rehab Services growth and operations.
Responsible for staying abreast of clinical and operational developments.
Assumes other related responsibilities as assigned.
Participation in educational / mentoring activities with Speech Language Pathologystudents, medical students, peers, Hospital staff and / or the community.
