Purpose:
Supervises the repair and maintenance activities performed by Clinical Engineering staff at the assigned facilities. Responsible for assigning both scheduled and unscheduled work to technicians in the department and overseeing the day to day operations of the department.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in electronics, computer science or biomedical equipment technology.
  • Minimum three years experience as lead or supervisor in a technical environment.
  • Seven years of experience working on multiple classes of medical equipment with demonstrated knowledge of corrective and scheduled maintenance practices required.
  • Specialization in two or more classes of clinical equipment. Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively use a computer to document work.
  • Ability to run advanced reports in the computerized maintenance management system.
  • Effectively use the company standard e~mail system.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft® Office products.
  • Ability to effectively evaluate junior technicians, assign and monitor work, and mentor as needed International Certification Commission certification as a Biomedical Equipment Technician is preferred.
  • CompTIA A+ certification required.
  • Net+ certification preferred Potentially stressful environment.
  • Potential exposure to high voltage, blood and air borne pathogens and bodily fluids and other hazards typically found in a hospital environment.
  • Travel between Advocate points of care.
  • Ability to assume on~call duties.
