Position Requirements:
~Graduate of an AMA approved program for Respiratory Care
~3 to 5 years charge/lead tech duties
~3 to 5 years critical care experience
~Associate's degree


~Ability to assume charge role
~Strong clinical skill level
~Ability to communicate
~Effectively work cohesively with diverse work group

~Current license in the State of Illinois as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
~Certified Pulmonary Function Technician by the NBRC credentialing board.
~BLS Provider
~Willing to prepare for and obtain RPFT credential
~CRT/RRT Credential

~Ability to work within a rapidly changing environment.
~Ability to work collaboratively with internal/external customers
~May be exposed to hazardous materials and life~threatening diseases.
~Ability to demonstrate a commitment to patient care.
~Ability to prioritize independently and respond to multiple simultaneous requests.
~Ability to work in a fast~pace environment with established time constraints and in difficult situations.
~Ability to perform lifting/transfer activities related to patients (up to 50lbs may be required)
~Ability to work designated shifts, including weekends and holidays.
~Ability to transport objects from one location to another
~This position will need to recognize the needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients treated.





Purpose:
To assist the Manager in providing administrative and clinical leadership for the Pediatrics Respiratory Care Department and Pulmonary Function Lab. In this role, the associate will help plan, coordinate and manage personnel and resources in order to provide the highest quality and safe patient care with trained, professional, and competent staff in the most cost~effective manner. In conjunction with Manager, the associate will collaborate with physicians and other health care disciplines to assure optimal patient care and will present himself/herself as a dedicated health care professional, patient advocate, mentor and leader.

Accountabilities:
Clinical Team Leader/Patient Relationship: Ensures and performs appropriate and effective patient care at the Clinical Team Leader level.
Assuring/Improving Quality: Maintain quality, effectiveness of care.
Demonstrates/Ensures the use of standards of Respiratory practices as a model of care.
Leadership/Professional Development: Demonstrates respect and understanding for peers and other clinical disciplines. Acts as a member of the patient care team while demonstrating professional behaviors and commitment to self~development.
Patient/Staff Education/Orientation: Demonstrates a commitment to learning, growth and development needs of patients and staff.
