Bring your pediatric, cardiac and nurse management expertise to the lead our Peds Cardiac ICU team!

  • 16-bed Peds ICU
  • Large pediatric cardiac population including peds surgical heart patients, PSHU
  • Lead a team of 56 FTEs and 4 ACMs
  • Two consecutive years at Tier 1 for Associate Engagement – We love what we do!

To provide leadership and coordination of patient care, education, performance improvement, research and clinical operations for a 16 bed Pediatric Surgical Heart Unit. To demonstrate the philosophy, objectives and goals of the Department of Pediatric services and implement integration throughout Advocate Children's Hospital - Oak Lawn, Christ Medical Center and Advocate Health Care.



  1. Serves as chief retention officer for unit/dept.
  2. Maintains effective working relations with both internal and external customers
  3. Manages, develops, implements and evaluates standards of nursing to facilitate quality patient care, efficiency and cost effectiveness.
  4. Prepares of departmental budgets (supplies, equipment, personnel). Responsible for budget management and performance and fiscal oversight of all areas of responsibility.
  5. Responsible for personal and professional growth and development



  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) and Master’s degree any field OR Bachelor’s Degree any field with a Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) required
  • Current Nursing licensure in Illinois
  • 3-5 years of pediatric clinical care experience
  • 2 years leadership experience in a pediatric clinical care environment
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Good customer orientation
  • Strong planning and delegation skills
  • Utilization of critical thinking in timely decision making
  • Strong communication skills in a group setting
