BSN
Minimum four years of Emergency Nursing experience Must be able to use a computer ANCC Board Certified CEN or TCRN
ACLS
BLS
TNCC or TNS
ECRN Proven leadership abilities including effective listening skills, critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast pace environment required. Must have demonstrated appropriate clinical knowledge to evaluate and prioritize patient flow issues.
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills ability to effectively communicate with a variety of patients, team members, and physicians.
Demonstrated diplomacy and tact when working in stressful situations with all levels of staff.
Excellent Customer Service Skills


Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders and twist frequently during work shift.
Must have the ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis.

Purpose:
To provide the overall movement of patients through the adult emergency department in a safe and efficient manner. The position will coordinate all patient care activities and be a liaison to the ED physician. The ED Patient Flow Coordinator appropriately delegates the workload and is a role model for teamwork, leadership, and professionalism in the ED. Responsibilities also includes the coordination of the admission to the inpatient unit in a timely manner and patient placement processes within the emergency department setting.

Accountabilities:
Facilitates timely and efficient patient placement of emergency department patients according to diagnostic acuity and site policy through communication with the triage nurse, charge nurse, and ED attending. Facilitates the patient flow from door to discharge.
