Position Requirements:
Completion and certification from an AMA approved program in Cardiovascular technology.
Registration status with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in Pediatric Echocardiography.
3+ years experience in cardiovascular ultrasound.
Proficient in performing all of the various echocardiographic modalities including TEE, Stress Echo and 3~D echocardiography
Ability to work independently High proficiency in math skills
Maintenance of the required amount of continuing education credits required to maintain registry and/or certification status.
CPR and BLS certification required.
Currently there is no on~call duty in the Peds echo lab. If on~call duty did become necessary in the future. You would be required to take call duties on a rotational basis. Must be able to meet flexible staffing requirements.

If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis.

Purpose:
To perform optimal quality echocardiographic studies on pediatric patients with known and/or suspected cardiac anomalies. These studies include the following modalities: M~mode, 2~Dimensional Echocardiography, Spectral Doppler, Color Doppler and Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE). These modalities are used extensively in the diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart disease in infants and children.
