To provide administrative oversight and direction, and manage the strategic planning, marketing, operational activities and administrative functions of Surgical services. These departments include Surgery, Pre/Post Surgery, PACU, Anesthesia, Sterile Processing, Ensures that all areas operate within the established policies, procedures, and strategic objectives of the Advocate Childrens Hospital, and in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations and guidelines.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
  • Advanced degree in Business Administration, Hospital Administration or a health care related field required.
  • 5 years experience in leadership in a surgical services environment
  • Demonstrated management skills, including ability to work well with others, team building and conflict resolution skills, effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work across all lines of management and staff to promote good relationships among departments.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare finance.


  1. Responsible for direct patient care services and takes the necessary actions to remedy variances in care delivery and resolves issues as identified.
  2. Development and implementation of strategic plans that integrate the goals of Advocate Health Care and Advocate Childrens Hospital Mission, Values, Philosophy, and Strategic Plan(s)
  3. Developmental and ongoing maintenance of collaborative relationships with department managers/directors, physicians, system-wide contracts and related external contacts in order to meet hospital/system objectives.
  4. Establishes and maintains a comprehensive clinical care management system that reflects quality and patient satisfaction goals. Development and implementation of policies, procedures, and standards that follow quality management, DNV, IDPH, CDC, OSHA, Magnet, and other external guidelines.
  5. Responsible for professional and personal growth and development.
