Coord Patient Services – Food & Nutrition Service - #109713

  • Day/PM shift: 12:30pm – 9:30p including rotating weekends and holidays
  • Full time (40 hours per week)


JOB SUMMARY: To ensure efficient coordination and management of the patient services area of the department through effective leadership, planning, directing, organizing and coordination of activities. To provide quality food and services to all patients and customers. To foster diversity by treating all associates and customers with respect, integrity and dignity. This effective management and supervision will be accomplished through teamwork, flexibility to change, striving for excellence and continued process improvement.



  • Supervise, coordinate and monitor the activities of the patient services staff.
  • Organization and coordination of Food Service Aide staff to ensure quality food service is provided to patients in a consistent manner.
  • Responsible for ensuring that quality food and services are provided to all patients, customers and HDM recipients by adhering to department and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and supervise department sanitation and safety program according to defined department standards.
  • Responsible for operation of the department within the established budget (i.e., meeting labor cost, food cost, etc.). Ensure staff works within the labor budget as communicated by the manager (i.e., meet salary budget with schedules).
  • Provide excellence in customer service in accordance with Service First Expectations and the Hospital Customer Standards Service Policy.

  • High school education
  • Three years previous food service experience.
  • 1 to 2 years lead experience.
  • Computer skills
  • Good human relations skills.
  • Ability to become certified in Food Service Sanitation (within first 3 months).
  • Ability to work flexible hours and days including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Ability to complete numerous simultaneous projects within the given time constraints.
  • Knowledge of patient trayline assembly and ware washing area.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality record.
  • Ability to solve problems in both operations and personnel management.
  • Basic knowledge of nutrition as it relates to trayline operations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Basic knowledge of food production.
  • Ability to work under stressful and difficult situations.
  • Ability to respond quickly to peak service demands.
  • Ability to motivate and lead people to accomplish tasks.
  • Ability to analyze situations and develop workable plans to resolve them.
  • Ability to see 'entire picture and manage accordingly.
  • Position requires standing, bending and medium lifting.
