Clinical Practice Specialist

The Clinical Practice Specialist will serve as practitioner, patient outcome champion, professional leader and innovator. This position provides a high degree of professional competence and integrates practice, research, education and leadership into clinical roles. The role will support Advocate’s initiatives working collaborative with unit leadership to achieve unit, department and site organizational goals to ensure safety, quality and service always.

 


Masters Degree
(MSN if no BSN or MA, MBA, MHA with a BSN)
3+ years recent experience in clinical specialty.
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.

This position will need to recognize the needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients, i.e., understand normal patterns of adult behavior and look for signs of normal aging prior experience with various age groups is preferred.
Strong analytical skills.
Proven leadership skills.
Good organizational skills
Basic computer knowledge.
Effective communication and presentation skills.
Current RN license in the State of Illinois.
Certification in specialty area.
CPR Certification.
Ability to work flexible hours according to customer needs.
May be exposed to hazardous materials and life~threatening diseases.
Ability to prioritize independently and respond to multiple simultaneous requests.
Lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.
Ability to communicate with patients/families.
Ability to travel locally.
Ability to work under stressful conditions and in difficult situations.


If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis.

Patient Outcomes: Monitors data, develops interventions, programs and indicators benchmarking performance to improve patient outcomes.
Professional Leadership/Staff Development: Demonstrates leadership qualities that reflect accountability and serves as a clinical expert/resource to staff with respect to problem solving patient care, aiding in staff's critical thinking skills and professional development.
Innovator: Participates and promotes quality, research and evidence based practice findings by making appropriate recommendations for changes in practice, policies and procedures.
