Night Shift 11pm-7:30am primarily Monday-Friday

 

Position Requirements: 
 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • 5 years of experience in ICU
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • ECRN preferred
  • Previous Leadership (Perm. Charge, Assistant Manager, Coordinator, Manager, etc)
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities that reflect accountability and interdependence consistent with goals of the operating unit
  • Strong clinical skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work cohesively with a diverse work group
  • Utilize critical thinking in timely decision making
  • Must be able to operate all equipment essential to performing the duties of the job

 

Purpose: 


Oversees daily unit operations including planning, organizing and evaluating the eICU's delivery of evidence based patient care in a cost effective manner as well as the Virtual Patient Monitoring Program, as applicable.

Accountabilities:

 

  • Provides day to day operations oversight to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care through appropriate use of resources
  • Promotes and supports an environment that is conducive to staff growth, development and autonomy
  • Functions autonomously within established guidelines seeking resources appropriately.
  • Oversees scheduling and staffing activities, including PTO approval conducts employee performance pathways and learning plans conducts coaching and mentoring.
  • Manages personnel (eRNs and eHCAs) and resources to provide the highest quality patient care utilizing trained, professional and competent staff with a goal to improve clinical outcomes
  • Clinical expert, resource and liaison to provide for the ongoing educational and professional development of staff
  • Acts as a role model to improve and mentor behaviors that enhance patient, physician and associate satisfaction
  • Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which include interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, resolution of employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations, and overall employee morale
  • Develops and recommends operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives
