CODING KNOWLEDGE ANALYST

ADVOCATE AURORA Shared Revenue 

REMOTE (WI or IL)

Full-Time – 40 hours per week

Position Requirements:
Associates degree in Health Information Management with 5 years experience in
Hospital Health Information Management/Medical Records Department (including extensive hospital coding experience)

RHIT required, CCS preferred
Demonstrated organizational skills
¬Analytical skills
¬Attention to detail
¬Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
¬Demonstrated knowledge of ICD~10~CM, CPT coding systems, as well as

  • Knowledge of various reimbursement methodology used in health care (DRGs, APR~DRGs, APCs, capitation, per diem, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines while being highly customer focused
  • Demonstrated program design skills with demonstrated ability to be creative, flexible, and innovative in course design
  • Energetic presentation skills

Purpose:
The Enterprise Coding Knowledge Analyst executes a Shared Coding Services education program that delivers consistency and best practices including effective ways of delivering learning that advances coders through the onboarding process as well as through expanded work scope. This position provides the team with additional educational needs to ensure that the coders are current with industry trends and meeting the expectations of their role including quality performance. By increasing the knowledge of the coders, this position helps create a pipeline of talent to take on more complex roles in the future. This position also provides an effective method to manage the certifications of credentialed team members

Accountabilities:
Responsible for delivering education sessions within the coder education program, including the remote onboarding program and ongoing coder education (annual updates, advancement, trends).
Responsible for identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in education program, content, and delivery.
Responsible for publicizing external continuing education opportunities and monitoring team member certification.
Performance of other duties
Responsible for development of content in the Shared Coding Services coder education program, including remote onboarding program, ongoing coder education (annual updates, advancement, trends), and physician / customer education.
