What You Will Do:

The Electronic Health Record(EHR) is the transactional core of care provided to patients. The ability to leverage data entered into the EHR enables organizations to provide better quality care at a better value. The central team can both technically extract requested data and support requestors in identifying data needs is a key component to an EHR team; the extent to which this is seamlessly operationalized is a key measure of EHR implementation success. A Senior Business Intelligence Devloper provides business and technical expertise to define, create, and maintain business intelligence solutions; in addition to assisting fellow team members to analyze and develop quality and efficient BI solutions. Provides expert technical leadership to team members and leads large size projects through all phases of system development including: planning, development, implementation and operation. Maintains database dictionaries, monitors standards and procedures and the integration of systems through database design and maintenance. Also responsible for production support and maintenance of the BI solutions and works with the team on system performance optimization and interoperability issues

 

Accountabilities:

•    Demonstrate strong analytical and logical thinking, creativity, self-reliance, communication skills and ability to effectively integrate varied components of a system.

•    Independenly complete analysis, development and enhancement of analytical and operational BI solutions to fulfill business needs. Provide expertise in areas to assist fellow team members with analysis and development of solutions fitting enterprise solutions. 

•    Work independently or as part of a group and balance multiple priorities while consistently completing complex tasks on time in a rigorous goal-oriented manner. 

•    Independently work closely with end users to understand and translate business needs to create well-designed and validated solutions using business intelligence tools. While overseeing team member designs to ensure alignment with BI strategy

•    Maintain technical currency and certifications in areas of responsibility and communicates effectively with team members and associates at all levels

•    Provides complete and accurate documentation for work based on current documentation standards. Cordinates team members to come up with standards and documentation as needed. 

•    Provides production support for business intelligence solutions.  Activities include problem analysis, break/fix, design/modeling, implementation/coding, and testing.
•    Serve as a SME on intiatives that require business intelligence expertise

•    Team player with a positive attitude, strong commitment to customer service and a desire to learn healthcare related systems and business processes 
•    May require up to 25% travel
 

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science or related field
  • Epic certified in Cogito, Caboodle, Clarity and at least one of Access, Clinical or Revenue Data Model. The candidate must pass these certifications (max 3 attempts allowed) to perform in this role. These certifications must be achieved within 90 days of employment. Note, Epic changes course titles, application names, and certification requirements from time to time. As these requirements change, the expectation is the same, the candidate must be certified to perform this job.
  • Minimum of 5 years exprience in Business Intelligence inlcuding: Business Intelligence, EHR, Data analytics, Healthcare, requirement gathering, work with Quality and Performance improvement projects, Epic
  •  Experienced in logical and physical database design, hands-on data modeling techniques, and development methodology, physical schema design of table spaces, rollback segments, and data files.
  • Experienced in the design of data extracts, migration, and queuing facilities.  Proficiency in the concepts and practice of database normalization techniques
  • Strong working knowledge of business intelligence concepts and designs. 
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a group and balance multiple priorities while consistently completing complex tasks in a rigorous goal-oriented manner.  Demonstrated strong analytical and logical thinking, creativity, self-reliance, communication skills and ability to effectively integrate varied components of a system. 
  • Ability to lead large projects and implement department wide solution and standards
  • Ability to mentor team members in BI space
  • Experienced in the design/developement of enterprise business intelligence solutions
