Purpose:
Responsible for the design, coding, implementation, and support of enterprise~wide application interfaces. Works with clients and vendors to develop detailed interface specifications and programming requirements to support their business needs. Integration Services provides application analysis, design and development support. This includes web application development, enterprise application integration, and mainframe computing. Integrates corporate, regional, and departmental business processes and information to improve workflow, increase quality, and decrease costs within the enterprise.

Accountabilities:

  • Serves as a mentor to other team members on technical and non~technical job functions. Instructs, directs and checks the work of other Integration staff.
  • Analyzes complex business problems and constructs practical solutions for project stakeholders. Provides influential recommendations to clients for application integration, system improvement and architecture.
  • Translates conceptual design business solutions into detailed application interface specifications.
  • Develops, executes, and coordinates detailed test plans to ensure that unit, regression, integration and stress testing is completed successfully.
  • Assists management in preparing project timelines and budgets. Ensures projects are completed successfully within budget and deadlines.
  • Keeps all project stakeholders apprised of project status and outstanding issues.
  • Constructs documentation necessary for change control, maintenance and support of application interfaces.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision and can manage complex projects consistently.
  • Participates in 24x7 production support 'on call' hot pager rotation and can solve the majority of issues independently.

Position Requirements:

  • Education Required:  Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience Required: Typically requires 5 years of experience in Application integration utilizing interface engine technology.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Certification Addendum
  • Team members will obtain within 6 months and maintain annual educational requirements for EPIC certification(s) as required by department.
  • Knowledge and experience to include interface engine technology such as: Sybase eBiz, eGate, Quovadx Cloverleaf, Cerner Open Engine, and IBM WebSphere MQ Series.
  • Thorough understanding of industry standard message formats. Examples include: HL/7, X12 or XML.
  • Full life~cycle application development utilizing I.T. methodologies. Programming language examples include: ODL (Sybase), Java, COBOL, TCL, CCL or Perl and Operating systems (Unix, Windows), communication protocols (TCP/IP, FTP), relational database management or network management.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Has the ability to explain technical terminology in a non~technical manner that is understandable to the customer.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills to resolve both technical and process related issues.
  • Strong team player with a positive attitude.

  • Must have functional vision and ability to use a computer the majority of the day.
  • Position requires some travel. May be exposed to road and weather hazards.
