The purpose of this position is to help achieve the vision of Advocate at Home by performing the duties of this position in a cost effective, results oriented and customer focused manner. This position is a critical component of the Unit team and as such meeting individual performance expectations and contribution to team performance goals is required.

The manager of clinical services is responsible to provide management direction for the integration of hospice services into Advocate at Home in conjunction with other service office management. Responsible for the integration of clinical and operational policies and practices among multiple locations to ensure consistency of care resulting in optimal patient care and satisfaction. Will mentor Clinical Managers in the day~to~day operation of multiple office locations within the Chicago area.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing required
  • 2~5 years Management experience
  • 5 years Hospice RN experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Computer experience preferred
  • Customer service skills
  • Ability to work under competing demands
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Current RN licensure in the State of Illinois
  • This position will need to recognize needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients treated, i.e. understand child growth and development, normal patterns of adolescent behavior and look for signs of normal aging prior experience with various age groups is preferred.

  • Must be highly organized ~ ability to work with many demands and minimal supervision.
  • Must be knowledgeable of regulatory guidelines in hospice admission criteria.



  1. Develops appropriate policies and practices to ensure clinical excellence and coordination of hospice services within all sites. Implements appropriate strategies to ensure consistency and quality in the delivery of hospice services.
  2. Develops and submits regular reports to the Director as requested.
  3. Other duties as assigned.
  4. Provides oversight of clinical operations, orients and mentors clinical management staff.
  5. Ongoing: Practices MVP, Demonstrates Advocate Health Care's leadership competencies. Encourages and sets expectations for staff to do the same.
  6. Ongoing: Contributes 'best thinking' to the organization, share experiences, education and insight with peers, associates and home care leadership. Question/challenge the status~quo and suggest better ways of doing things.
  7. Ongoing: Practices and creates an environment that supports and sustains effective communications with internal and external customers. Develops and sustains relationships that enhances effective coordination of care and increases referral base.
