OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST - INPATIENT REHAB

  • Advocate Condell Medical Center, Libertyville, IL
  • Registry
  • Day/PM Shift - Weekends 1x/month required; Holidays 1x a year required; Available during the week for coverage (about 10-40 hrs) for upswing in census
  • 2 weeks straight 40 hrs each week needed for training if hired
  • ***Acute hospital settings including ICU strongly preferred (but we can train on the job for ICU)***

 

Position Requirements:
Masters degree in Occupational Therapy (or Bachelors degree for graduates prior to 2007) from an accredited school.

Eligible for licensure to practice in Illinois
Must obtain IL licensure within 6 months of hire
CPR certification AHA BLS within 30 days of hire
Maintains continuing education requirements as mandated by professional standards
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Competent in a variety of diagnostic and treatment techniques
Recognizes needs and behaviors of specific age groups of patients treated
May be exposed to hazardous materials and life~threatening diseases.
Direct contact with body fluids.
Pushing, pulling, lifting, and transferring patients. Ability to lift very heavy weight requirements according to Department of Labor definitions.
Ability to assist, escort, transfer, and respond to patient needs for extended periods of time.
Required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Purpose:
Provides direct occupational therapy services to patients of all ages who are referred to the department. Selects appropriate evaluation procedures and develops individualized treatment programs to restore or maximize each patient's functional skills.
