Position: Food Service Worker

Location: Advocate Condell Hospital; Libertyville, IL

Part Time (0.5) - 20 hours a week; PM Shift

  • Monday-Friday 4pm-8pm, every other weekend. Rotating holidays.

 

Purpose: Under the supervision of Food Service Supervisor, the Food Service Worker aids in patient tray preparation and services to all hospital patients to ensure excellent quality food trays to all our patient. Food Service Worker also performs safety and sanitation services for the Food and Nutrition Department. Food Service Worker does the patient meal cart transportation duties in the Food and Nutrition Department

 

Position Requirements:

  • Preferred six months of food service experience.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Numerous occasions of bending and or lifting as related to essential job activities


Ability to perform heavy lifting (lifting 50 to 100 pounds occasionally and or 25 to 50 pounds frequently and or 10 to 20 pounds constantly.)

This requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 08/01/2014. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For lifts over 35 pounds, lifting equipment is expected to be used or lift with at least one other associate when available. Unique lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case by case basis.
