DayShift

  • 6:00am – 2:30pm, 5 days a week; 1 weekday and 1 weekend off--opposite weekend of the lead off

 

General job duties: Prepares and cooks large quantities of meat, fish, sauces vegetables, hot cereals, soups, starches and other food items. Utilizes standardized recipes, portion control and ingredient controls to provide consistency of flavor, aroma, texture, appearance, and quality in foods served to all our customers. Maintains food costs through the use of 'first in, first out” food rotation, safe food handling, recording of production amounts, and utilizing carryovers.

 

Requirements:

  • Preferred one year or healthcare/trayline experience
  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read, write speak and understand the English language, as related to essential job activities
  • Prior cooking experience 1~2 years preferred
  • Ability to perform short order cooking
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Exposed to some extreme temperature changes, heat~cooking areas, Cold~cooler and freezers
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally with assistance and/or 20 to 35 pounds frequently and/or 10 to 20 pounds constantly.
  • Large amounts of bending, as related toe essential job activities
  • Work around wet, slippery floors--wear proper footwear (Slip Resistant Shoes)
  • Contact with cleaning chemicals
  • Various shifts and work positions

 

This requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 08/01/2014. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For lifts over 35 pounds, lifting equipment is expected to be used or lift with at least one other associate when available. Unique lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case by case basis.

The Cook is held accountable for achieving the preparation of quality and safe food. The Cook will accomplish quality and safe food by doing the following:
