Position Requirements:
2 yrs experience in specified area or equivalent.
Experience as a charge nurse preferred
Strong clinical skills
Ability to lead in a dynamic environment
Ability to communicate effectively and work cohesively with a diverse work group.
Utilize critical thinking and timely decision making.
Ability to assess skills and abilities of others
Ability to coach in the moment and provide service recovery.
Ability to provide effective leader rounding.
Current licensure as RN in Illinois
ACLS Ability to work within a rapid changing environment.
Ability to work collaboratively with internal/external customers.
Ability to demonstrate a commitment to patient~focused care.
Ability to prioritize independently and respond to multiple simultaneous requests.
Ability to work under stressful conditions and in difficult situations, dealing with and resolving conflict
Ability to recognize needs and behaviors of specific age groups of patients treated.
May be exposed to hazardous materials and life~threatening diseases.
Work every third weekend .
Take a patient care assignment when required/ needed.

Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis.

To provide consistent operational and clinical leadership in the Permanent Charge Nurse Role for the unit during Day shift.

A. Operational Accountability: Consistently supports the operational accountability of nursing unit during assigned Day shift.
B. Leadership Accountability: Consistently demonstrates clinical leadership for unit.
C. Quality Patient Care Accountability: Consistently facilitates associate critical thinking and clinical skills to optimize patient outcomes, customer satisfaction and resource management.
D. Professional Development Accountabilities: Accepts responsibility for self~development and professional practice.
To provide clinical support and nursing leadership in the event of an emergent situation or for the clinical assessment of a patient and prevention of clinical deterioration. This nurse will serve as a first responder and will collaborate with the ICU Intensivist and medical staff for the care of patients.
