We are looking to hire on:  Medical/Surgical Unit, Cardiology Unit, Progressive Care Unit, Observation Unit, and Medical Surgical Renal

Hours:  We have PM shift open (2:30 pm to 11:00 pm) and Night shift (10:30 pm to 7:00 am)

Status:  Mainly part time needs (year round) - this does come with benefits!

We do put all new hires through training and welcome all new CNAs!  


Position Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent

Certified Nurse Assistant or equivalent experience (such as paramedic training and/or Military Corpsman) or completion of first semester of clinical nursing school or licensed as a LPN

Good written and verbal communication skills. CPR Ability to frequently stoop, bend, push, pull, climb, lift and demonstrate manual dexterity for extended periods of time.

Ability to lift and assist with the movement of heavy patients and/or equipment, (with assistance.)

Ability to adapt to changes in work assignments and environment.

Possible exposure to infectious waste and disease.

Ability to stand and walk for a long period of time (stand and/or walk 80 percent of time sit 20 percent of time, depending on assignment (able to kneel and bend.)

Able to work at a pace sufficient to complete assigned workload daily.

Ability to assist in evacuation of patients in the event of fire or other disaster.

If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis.

To assist in providing quality care to patients in a manner which is patient focused and technically appropriate. The Patient Care Technician works under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse in accordance with accepted standards practice within the guidelines of the Illinois Nursing Practice Act and the Mission and Philosophy of the Advocate Healthcare.

Perform tasks related to maintaining the integrity of patient care standards and efficient unit operations.
Participate in the admission and discharge process of with all patients under the guidance of the Nurse Clinician or designee.
Provide general patient care duties that are specific to the PCT patient population and as directed by the Nurse Clinician.
Perform tasks related to the nutritional needs of the patient.
