South Suburban is a 260 bed hospital with a level 2+ nursery and 24 bed Emergency Room. We also have a 5 star skilled nursing facility on site and 2 Davinci Robots in our surgical services area.

Position Requirements:
~High School education or equivalent.
~Certification C.N.A. or
~Nursing student having completed at least one clinical rotation.

1~2 years prior experience in a hospital or customer service environment.
~Computer keyboarding skills preferred.
~Good communication skills.
~Professional interpersonal skills.
~BLS ~Ability to move heavy patients on carts and lift 50 lbs.
~May be exposed to infectious diseases, violent patient behavior, radiation, chemicals, caustic materials, electrical equipment and hazards associate with their use.
~Ability to work weekends, holidays and off~shifts as needed.


If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis.

Purpose:
To assist the registered nurse with delegated patient care activities and to provide administrative support for the patient care area, including receptionist/secretarial duties, medical chart management, and general administrative and operational support for clinical team.

Accountabilities:
Demonstrates clinical competence in patient care duties. Assists the nurse with delegated tasks effectively, efficiently and in a thorough manner.
Responsible for indirect patient care activities.
Communicates effectively with patients, families, staff, physicians, and associates in other departments.
Ensures a safe and secure environment.
Participates in ongoing education and development.
