The Manager will coordinate, plan, and manage the graduate student training and professional development activities to ensure quality, recovery-oriented, evidence-based graduate student and staff clinician training along with the Director. Possesses an intuitive grasp of advanced behavioral health knowledge and skills, a high degree of professional competence, and a high level of autonomy managing trainees and clinical services. Demonstrates clinical leadership for innovative service initiatives. Provides consultation on challenging patients, situations, problems, and utilizes innovative approaches to solution building and shares this expertise with others. Assumes primary clinical supervisory responsibility for behavioral services to ensure integrated delivery of care.


  • Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology
  • 4-5 years clinical experience with an additional 1-2 years leadership experience.
  • Illinois Licensed Clinical Psychologist
  •  Good communication, customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Proven leadership skills in the delivery of public and commercial behavioral health services
  • Demonstrated competence in administration of alcohol, substance abuse and mental health services to children, adolescents and adults
  • Knowledge of current models of clinical care and evidence based practice
  • Ability to integrate psychological theory, research and practice.
  • Strong knowledge and skills for behavioral health assessments of all ages
  • Ability to deliver presentations to diverse audiences on behavioral healthcare topics
  • Ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced, changing environment with multiple tasks, time constraints and in difficult situations.
  • Ability to travel to other Advocate facilities, government offices and provider sites in Chicago in order to attend meetings
  • Ability to form excellent working relationships with clinical staff, clinical supervisors of trainees, support staff and managers
  • May be exposed to patients who potentially could be violent has knowledge of techniques to de-escalate verbal and physically aggressive behavior
  • Familiarity with the roles and functioning of other providers in the network of child, adult and family behavioral health services, the network of primary care and in the substance abuse treatment (city, state, federal) network
