Position Requirements:
Graduate of an AMA approved program for Respiratory Care.

This position will need to recognize needs and behavioral of a variety of age groups of patients treated, i.e. understand child growth and development, normal patterns of adolescent behavior and look for signs of normal aging prior experience with various age groups is preferred.

This position requires the ability to travel Chicagoland and the collar counties to provide home care services.  Company transportation is provided

Certified therapist by the NBRC credentialing board.
Strong, interpersonal, clinical, problem solving, team building and communications skills.
Willing to be CPR instructor.
Must work well under stressful situations.
1 ~ 2 years hospital experience.
The candidates must be willing to attend all mandatory educational activities and staff meetings, perform basic and advanced respiratory care procedures, act as a resource person for all staff and therapist abreast of current clinical standards.

Licensed to be a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the Department of Regulation.
Current CPR Certification
The candidate must also be able to perform physical tasks in order to provide respiratory care services lifting, pushing, quickly to emergency situations. Lifting will include up to 20 to 50 pounds occasionally and/or 10 to 25 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly.
All candidates must come into contact with potentially hazardous situations and chemicals such as high pressure gas tanks and may be exposed to specific contagious disease states such as TB as well as blood and body fluids.
May require visits to private residences that may not be accessible to people with disabilities

If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis.

The Respiratory Care Practitioner/Respiratory Therapist is responsible for implementing and evaluating care for patients of all ages in the home or clinical lab setting. Some assessment and planning activity is done in these settings also.This Respiratory Therapist will demonstrate the knowledge, judgment and practical expertise necessary to meet the patient/caregivers needs according to physican instruction, approved~respiratory standards and AHCP's Policies and Procedures.

This position is a critical component of the Respiratory Care team and as such meeting individual performance expectations and contribution to team performance goals is required.

Responsible for following all policies and procedures of AHCP regarding service delivery, documentation and care coordination. During supervisory visits, exhibits full compliance, and verbalizes knowledge of AHCP policies including, but not limited to client education, infection control, management of hazardous wastes and age~specific behaviors for clients.
Receives, transcribes and directs the implementation of physician orders and when necessary seeks revision of order from physician.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her assigned visit. Assesses and interprets data about the patient's respiratory status in order to identify each patients age~specific needs and provides the care needed by these patients.
Acceptance of changes in assignments and/or work schedules as directed by the clinical manager in response to changing department needs and/or work load demands.
Remains knowledgeable regarding current and new medical equipment used in the home and assists with orientation
