SR. PHYSICAL THERAPIST - INPATIENT THERAPY

  • Advocate Sherman Hospital, Elgin, IL
  • Full-time - 40 hrs/week; Monday through Friday
  • Day Shift -  position will involve one early morning start per week and one late afternoon to early evening end to work shift per week.
  • Position does require working a minimum of one weekend shift per month and one holiday per year in the inpatient setting.

 

Position Requirements:
Bachelors or above degree in PT

Current APTA member
Illinois license per IDPR

CPR certification

3~4 years of clinical experience
Demonstration of leadership skills
Good communication skills
Advanced level of clinical skills and expertise
May be exposed to hazardous materials and life~threatening diseases
Direct contact with chemicals and body fluids
Pushing, pulling lifting and transferring patients.
Ability to assist, escort, transfer, and respond to patient needs for extended periods of time.
May be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
This requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 08/01/2014. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis.

Purpose:
To provide Physical Therapy services to patients/clients with physical disabilities and limitations. These services include the use of modalities and specific exercise techniques to help a patient regain maximal function by relieving pain, promoting healing and assisting in adjustment to temporary or permanent disability. In addition, provide advanced level skills reflecting a range of experience and depth of knowledge in Physical Therapy theory and practice. Provides clinical leadership and professional growth to physical therapists.

Accountabilities:
Responsible for all principal accountabilities of Physical Therapist
Responsible for staying abreast of clinical and operational developments in PT.
Provision of leadership role in Rehab Services in one or more of the following
