The purpose of this position is to provide timely, accurate and comprehensive services related to providing stock and non~stock supplies and equipment to specialty departments within the hospital. This includes activities involving receiving, distribution, bulk and logical unit of measure deliveries, on demand services, 2~bin inventory deployment and management, inventory control and attention to days on hand levels, storeroom management and maintenance, housekeeping, root cause analysis and error proofing, lean management, continuous improvement and the use of various technologies, including, but not limited to bar code scanning, electronic receiving, delivery and chain of custody tools and applications and remote work locations, as assigned.

This is position has high demand as the products that are being stocked are considered more costly, thus higher risk of cost waste, and have higher risk of urgency of usage for life threatening procedures. The incumbent in this position will deal with heightened stress in the position and requires a higher level of competency and responsibility.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • 2~3 Experience in perioperative inventory management with operating knowledge of specialty departments included. (Specialty departments can include the following or variations of the following: Cath Lab, surgical OR, I/R, E.P.)
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to use a barcode scanner
  • Lawson ERP knowledge
  • 2~Bin inventory management knowledge
  • PAR replenishment and cycle count capability. None This position will require moving various types of inventory containers, as well as bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, stretching, computer reading, and data entry.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For lifts over 35 pounds, lifting equipment is expected to be used or lift with at least one other associate when available. Unique lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case by case basis.
