JOB TITLE & DEPARTMENT: RADIOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST

  • SHERMAN, ELGIN
  • DAY/PM
  • FULL TIME

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Perform radiographic procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in diagnosing and treating patient illness and/or injury and in accordance with departmental standards and policies.  Determines appropriate radiographic technique and positions patients using immobilization and support devices to insure optimum film quality.  Operation of radiographic, fluoroscopic, portable, computed radiography and PACS equipment to ensure quality examinations.  Adherence to department standards of radiographic quality.  Delivery of patient care and in accordance with department standards of continued quality improvement.  Ensure a secure and safe patient and work environment by maintaining continued awareness of safety hazards.  Development of leadership skills and professionalism for self through participation in department and/or hospital based committees and continuing education programs.

This position will need to recognize the needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients
treated, ie., understand child growth and development, normal patterns of adolescent behavior and look for signs of normal aging prior experience with various age groups is preferred.
 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Radiographic Technology
    ~ Previous radiology experience is desirable.
  •  Knowledge of Radiology Information Computer System
  • Ability to anticipate patient, employee and department needs and
    refer for action.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Licensed Radiographic Technologist by the IDNS/IEMA
  • CPR Certification
  • ARRT Registry eligible
  • Ability to do light, medium or heavy lifting:


    LIGHT: Lifting up to 20~50 pounds occasionally and/or
    up to 10 pounds frequently.
    MEDIUM: Lifting up to 20~50 pounds occasionally
    and/or
    10 to 25 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds
    constantly.
    HEAVY: Lifting 50 to 100 pounds occasionally and/or 25
    to 50 pounds frequently and/or 10 to 20 pounds
    constantly.
