OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST - OUTPATIENT ACUTE CARE

  • Advocate Sherman Hospital, Elgin, IL
  • Registry - candidate must have experience treating in the acute care hospital setting (minimum of one year experience preferred).  
  • Day Shift - requires working a minimum of 2 weekend day shifts per month and 1-2 holidays per year in the acute care setting.
  • Candidate must be available for 2-3 weekdays for initial orientation/training upon on-boarding.  
  • ***Experience working in the OP OT setting highly desirable***

 

Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy or above from an accredited school.

Illinois Department of Professional Regulation.
CPR certification
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Competent in a variety of diagnostic and treatment techniques
Recognizes needs and behaviors of specific age groups of patients treated
OTR/L 

May be exposed to hazardous materials and life~threatening diseases
Direct contact with body fluids
Pushing, pulling, lifting, and transferring patients
Ability to assist, escort, transfer, and respond to patient needs for extended periods of time
May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
(Full time/part time staff coming on board at Advocate Sherman Hospital have the minimum requirement of working one weekend shift per month and one holiday per year in the inpatient setting. Associates hired specifically for the outpatient setting must be available to work until 7:00 p.m. two evenings per week in adjunct to the inpatient rehab requirement aforementioned).

Purpose:
Provides direct occupational therapy services to patients of all ages who are referred to the department. Selects appropriate evaluation procedures and develops individualized treatment programs to restore or maximize each patient's functional skills.
