Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy or above from an accredited school.

**Outpatient Orthopedic/hands/splinting is required**

~OTR/L ~ Illinois Department of Professional Regulation.

~Ability to assist, escort, transfer, and respond to patient needs for extended periods of time
~May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
(Full time/part time staff coming on board at Advocate Sherman Hospital have the minimum requirement of working one weekend shift per month and one holiday per year in the inpatient setting. Associates hired specifically for the outpatient setting must be available to work until 7:00 p.m. two evenings per week in adjunct to the inpatient rehab requirement aforementioned). This requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 08/01/2014. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis.

Provides direct occupational therapy services to patients of all ages who are referred to the department. Selects appropriate evaluation procedures and develops individualized treatment programs to restore or maximize each patient's functional skills.
