Purpose:
Assists with the management and operation of the Supplier Diversity Program across the system. Key focus is oversight of supplier diversity data management across the system. Work with internal teammates in supply chain, construction and other areas related to enhancing and growing the supplier pool with qualified vendors. Assists Supplier Diversity System Leader with external relationships with supplier diversity organizations.

Accountabilities:

  • Manage the collection of diverse supplier spending data and information across the enterprise quarterly and annually. Assist with analyzing data for the SD System Leader.
  • Lead the continued development, implementation and oversight of the Advocate Aurora Health Supplier Diversity Tier 2 program.
  • Support supplier outreach and networking to build relationships and possible diverse supplier connections for Advocate Aurora Health. Acts as an advocate for diverse vendors (current and potential).
  • Attends conferences and workshop events supporting supplier diversity and representing Advocate Aurora Health.
  • Partners with sourcing (supply chain) and facilities and construction teams internally to understand supply requirements and identify diverse businesses to meet inclusion commitments.
  • Represent Advocate Aurora Health at external meetings with suppliers, external advocacy groups diverse supplier trade fairs and others.
  • Partners with all stakeholders systemwide to help meet supplier diversity objectives. Proactively identify internal procurement opportunities where diverse suppliers can be utilized.
  • Partners with the Supplier Diversity System Leader to conduct and lead Supplier Diversity training sessions, to internal teammembers and external stakeholders.
  • Help manage logistics of the annual Advocate Aurora Health

 

Position Requirements:

  • Typically requires 7 years of experience in a large, complex corporate or healthcare environment.
  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent years of experience.
  • Ideally, includes 3+ years experience with supplier diversity programs.
  • Should be extremely proficient with data management and various financial software packages.
  • Supply chain/procurement experience is desired. Background in construction management also helpful.
  • Experience and knowledge of supplier diversity concepts and practices. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others, at all levels manage priorities within a matrixed reporting structure.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel) general knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Working knowledge of supplier diversity systems (e.g., CVM, Viva, Supplier IO, etc.).
  • Must have strong communication skills (written and oral) also should have solid critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast~paced, team focused environment.
  • Have a general understanding about procurement practices (e.g., RFP process, 'total best value', etc.).
  • Have a strong passion for achieving results by working with multiple and diverse stakeholders across the enterprise and the community.
  • Successful candidate should have solid business consulting and influencing skills to be successful.
  • Have the ability to move individuals at all levels of the organization to a position/decision.
  • Candidate must be able to effectively mine AAH financial systems for supplier diversity opportunities.
  • Must have strong analytical skills.
  • This position requires travel, therefore, will be exposed to weather and road conditions.
  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
  • Exposed to a normal office environment.
