ACL Laboratories is jointly operated by Wisconsin-based Aurora Health Care and Advocate Health Care.  Created via a merger of several established laboratories, ACL continues a 40-year tradition of providing a full range of lab services.  We able to draw on the resources two major health care systems which uniquely positions us to provide superior service on a wide range of clinical and analytical testing, including molecular diagnostics.  We also offer 24-hour turnaround on most routine lab tests - including toxicology, environmental, and specialty tests.  Our staff includes board-certified pathologists, PhD chemists and microbiologists, registered medical technologists/technicians, cytotechnologists, histotechnicians, and specialists in information technology.

The purpose of this position is to plan, organize, and oversee the activities of the support services section and related technical sections of a Hospital based Laboratory. The supervisor directs the administrative activities of the sections, and assumes responsibility for daily operations to assure provision of timely, accurate, and comprehensive hospital Laboratory service to physicians, patients, and other customers.


Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience with at least two years of college level course work related to biological science and/or business management.
  • Four years of current Laboratory experience under direction of board certified pathologist.
  • Two years leadership experience in Accrediting Organization, CAP, or any other lab accrediting agency
  • Fiscal and budgeting knowledge.
  • Communication, problem~solving, leadership, decision~making, and interpersonal.
  • Working knowledge of procedures and equipment used in sections supervised.
  • Familiarity with fundamental statistics of quality control in the laboratory.
  • Experience with LIS and personal computers.
  • Knowledge of POC instrumentation with ability to provide training and monitoring of POC testing performed by associates.
  • Certification as a Phlebotomist by ASCP, NHA, AMT or equivalent agency. If not certified, must obtain certification with 1 year of hire. Ability to travel as requested/required.
