Purpose:
The Center for Health Information Services (CHIS) provides reporting and data systems to support safety, quality, service, and population health initiatives within Advocate Health Care. The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst in CHIS is responsible for synthesizing and interpreting clinical and administrative data, evaluating trends, developing expertise in specific measure definitions and datasets, and utilizing computer skills to develop and maintain complex reporting systems. This position works on teams that may include technical resources, to facilitate and drive efficient data mining, analysis, and system~wide reporting. The senior business intelligence analyst establishes standard report production and validation processes while also responding to ad hoc requests for data and information from executives and associates throughout Advocate. This position provides training and education to junior members of the team and other Advocate associates and leaders.

Accountabilities:
Measurement: Define, validate, and manage measures and data related to safety, quality, service, and population health. Develop and maintain expertise in measure definition as the cornerstone for reporting.
Reporting: Create documents and reports that clearly present data and information for associates and leaders at the site, system, and board levels in the organization.
Technology Solutions: Implement or manage computer programs, applications, and decision support systems.
Educating and Training: Effectively communicates with and responds to customers, team members, and key leaders, providing in~depth, thoughtful knowledge transfer and consultation.

 

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of work experience
  • Experience working with decision support systems or databases
  • Proficient with MS~Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience with database querying or report writing
  • Communicates effectively
  • Desire to learn with strong intellectual curiosity
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others as part of a team
  • Proven critical thinking skills and the ability to problem solve
  • Knowledge of basic statistics
  • Customer service orientation
  • Ability to work independently with some supervision
  • None May travel outside Illinois for conferences and occasional local travel
