Shift is Monday - Friday ; 9:30 - 6pm. Rotating Weekends


Position Requirements:
High school diploma.

Compounding Experience highly preferred.
1 year pharmacy technician experience in a hospital environment with some exposure to IV admixture services
Computer data entry ability
Strong organizational skills.
Very strong attention to detail
Active Illinois Pharmacy Technician License

Working with cytotoxic agents and other hazardous or bio~hazardous materials.
Occasional on~call may be required.
Ability to perform medium lifting up to 20 to 50 pounds occasionally, 15 to 25 pounds frequently, 5 to 15 pounds constantly.
Must be able to wear a surgical mask, gloves and other clean room appropriate garb.

The purpose of this position is to help achieve the vision of Advocate Home Health Services by performing the duties of this position in a cost effective, results oriented and customer focused manner. This position is a critical component of the Unit team and as such meeting individual performance expectations and contribution to team performance goals is required.

To assist licensed pharmacists with activities related to dispensing pharmaceuticals, medical supplies and parenteral product admixtures to home care patients. In addition, the position assists with quality assurance, environmental control, regulatory and accreditation compliance aspects of these activities.

Packages the final product for delivery to the patient.
Insures inventory stock levels of drug items, supplies and equipment are maintained at appropriate levels and have not passed expiration dating.
Assists the pharmacists with maintaining patient records, including but not limited to: entering medication profiles, consent forms, and other documentation as required.
Assists with maintaining records for tracking patient DME, and scheduled DME maintenance.
Coordinates daily work flow and activity scheduling.
Participates in individual or team projects to improve service, quality, safety and cost effectiveness of pharmacy operations. Provides input through suggestions, meetings and other avenues used to gather information.
Maintains profession competence through continuing education, and assists with training new associates.
Prepares sterile products intended for parenteral administration using aseptic technique and infection control procedures. Strict adherence to such insures the health and safety of the patients for whom medications are intended for use, as well as Advocate associates.
Fills medication orders accurately to provide correct medications for all patients, insure works is reviewed by a pharmacist for accuracy before medications are made ready for patient delivery.
