Position Requirements:
High school graduate or equivalent

Have successfully completed an IL approved CNA training program and pass a written competency test.
Have successfully completed a nursing arts course (e.g., Basics in Nursing, Fundamentals of Nursing, Nursing 101). Must provide an official transcript indicating successful completion and at least 40 hours of supervised clinical experience in an accredited nurse training program.
Good communication skills
Basic computer skills
Familiarity with copier and fax equipment
Good customer service skills
Competent patient care with ADLs
Ability to accurately take vital signs
Ability to address patient/ family needs
CNA (if non nursing student)
CPR per hospital policy
CPI within 6 months, then every 2 years
Ability to adapt to changes in work assignments and environment
Ability to frequently stoop, bend, push, pull, climb, lift and demonstrate manual dexterity for extended periods of time
Ability to lift and assist with the movement of heavy patients and or equipment, up to 300 pounds with assistance.
Ability to adapt to changes in work assignments and environment
Able to work at a pace sufficient to complete assignment workload daily
Possible exposure to infectious waste and disease.
Possible exposure to various contagious disease, radiation, chemicals, caustic materials, electrical equipment and hazards associated with their use.
Ability and willingness to work on all shifts, weekends, and holidays in patient care areas.
Ability to function in a professional and organized fashion under adverse conditions
Ability to transport patients and supplies
Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time (stand and/or walk 80 percent of the time sit 20 percent of the time, depending on assignment)
Ability to kneel and bend
Ability to assist in evacuation of patients in the event of fire or other disaster

If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis.

The purpose of this position is to assist the RN with patient care, provide clerical support to the unit, and to assist in the maintenance of the patient care environment.

Maintains patient environment
Performs duties as receptionist, when assigned.
Plans and performs general patient care duties that are specific to the patient population served and as directed by the Registered Nurse.
Plans and promotes a smoother workflow and provides a positive hospital experience for patients, families and visitors.
