Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Master's Degree in Nursing/MBA, MHA, MPH or relevant
  • Board Certified in nursing/management area of expertise
  • 7+ years of experience in nursing leadership or health care administration positions. Includes 3 years of management experience in nursing management within a large, complex health care system.
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
  • Sound knowledge base of information systems and qualitative/quantitative methodologies, clinical and administrative nursing practice standards and operations.
  • Expert in nursing operations, outcomes management, budget preparation, clinical resource management, workforce planning.
  • Strong skills in diplomacy and conflict resolution at various levels within the organization.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all members of the interprofessional health care team.
  • Ability to support and develop professional staff with varied levels of clinical nursing and research expertise.
  • Ability to influence others to achieve the best outcomes.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and decision~making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of leadership and staff.


Purpose:
Oversees implementation of 2020 strategic plan for Nursing Services and is accountable for leading, planning, evaluating and supporting key strategic nursing operations initiatives. Provides leadership and is responsible for various clinical programs/services to include but not limited to the System Nursing Operations, Finance and HR Team, working collaboratively with Clinical Staffing Services to create, lead and implement a system strategy for a mobile workforce, develop strategic plan in collaboration with HR for system workforce planning, lead and implement system nursing workload acuity program and effective staffing program across all care sites. Provides leadership for the business/fiscal management of all nursing operations in collaboration with Regional CNOs and CFOs creating operational, strategic and capital budgets for system nursing services. Will provide leadership in strategies for budget planning and approval, resource management, revenue management, decision support and reducing nursing turnover. This position has accountability for ensuring high quality, high value patient care, interdisciplinary collaboration, nursing and physician integration efforts and improving team member and patient satisfaction. Responsible for collaborating with nursing leaders at all levels, executive team, medical staff and clinical areas in the organization's decision~making structures and processes to achieve nursing strategic goals.
