Position Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices
5 years of experience in Faith Community Nursing

1 year of supervisory experience in management of staff and budgets.
Faith Community Nursing Certification required.
Excellent supervisory, communication, leadership, organizational, and relationship skills.
Excellent poise and delivery skills.
Ability to develop relationships in multicultural and multi-religious settings.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
Demonstrates a keen understanding of the integration of faith and health as the core dimension of the parish nurse ministry.
Demonstrates spiritual maturity.

Generally exposed to a normal office environment.
Exposure to hazardous materials or potentially infectious body fluid is possible.
Position requires travel so may be exposed to weather and road conditions.
Operates all equipment necessary to perform the duties of the job.

Purpose:
Oversees Faith Community Nurse staff, Wellness Nurses and other staff as assigned. Assists with developing strategic direction and innovation for the program. Leaders Faith Community Nurse Support Network. Supervises program in tandem with strategic plan and organizational goals of Advocate Aurora Health to create cost-effective, holistic, community-based care, and ultimately healthier communities.

Accountabilities:

  1. Supervises day~to~day operations for Advocate Aurora Faith Community Nurses, Wellness Nurses, and other staff as assigned. Recruits, interviews and hires new nursing staff.
  2. Oversees continuing education, professional certifications and insurance requirements for Faith Community Nurse staff. Oversees accurate documentation and reporting of Faith Community Nurse activities and program outcomes. Identifies, develops and maintains quality assurance systems to ensure the effectiveness of care provided by faith community nurses.
  3. Facilitates and completes annual performance reviews for each faith community nurse in conjunction with clergy leadership of participating congregations and annually evaluates each faith community nurse partnership.
  4. Assists in the design, development and implementation of innovative approaches to faith community nursing that integrate with Advocate's continuum of care, community health and faith outreach priorities.
  5. Convenes FCNs and other staff for sharing of best practices and joint planning. Develops and maintains internal and external networks to provide for a variety of resource and referral opportunities for faith community nurses.
  6. Leads and coordinates the selection process for new faith communities within the faith community nurse program.
  7. Leads the negotiation of new contract development, records, fiscal and salary administration and support staff.
  8. Convenes regular meetings of the Faith Community Nurse Support Network. Identifies and supports a leadership team from within the FCNSN that will assist with setting meeting agendas.
  9. Identifies continuing education topics and meeting agendas in conversation with the FCNSN leadership team. Administers stipends and other benefits to FCNSN support network congregations.
  10. Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which include interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, resolution of employee concerns, and corrective actions
