Position Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
  • Master's Degree in Nursing or related field.
  • 7 years of experience in conducting research, with at least 5 years of these being responsible for leading clinical research teams with a proven record of successful research study completion and dissemination of findings.
  • 3 years of management experience in managing staff and budgets.
  • Expert in quality data collection methods, management, and analysis.
  • Maintains an up-to-date, working knowledge of national trends and evidence related to nursing quality, practice, standards, evidence and Magnet requirements.
  • Knowledgeable in compliance, privacy, safety, and legal nursing practice standards.
  • Skills in critical thinking, problem solving and communication.
  • Strong analytical thinker able to utilize data to identify practice issues .
  • Skills in establishing excellent working relationships and strategic partnering with various teams and executives across a large organization to achieve shared objectives
  • Skills in managing multiple, conflicting, complex demands in geographically dispersed areas
  • Team oriented with ability to form high performing teams from sets of diverse team members.

Professional practice and quality leadership for nursing across the care continuum and multi-state care settings. Responsible for system nursing practice standards, policy, procedures. Responsible for nursing quality data including data source identification, data collection, and data entry into NDNQI as well as maximizing efficiency and data reporting for non-NDNQI nursing measures. Serves as an expert consultant on nursing practice and performance data, and evidence-based quality improvement methods. Leads processes, teams, and builds infrastructure to support the practice of nursing through nursing shared governance, EHR development, and inter-professional practice teams. Spans system, site and inter-professional boundaries to negotiate patient-centered solutions.


  1. Responsible for nursing quality and practice in assigned region.
  2. Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which include interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, resolution of employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations, and overall employee morale.
  3. Develops and recommends operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives.
