Directs, executes, plans and manages all regional behavioral health operational activities. Develops and executes strategy to achieve organizational goals and objectives for behavioral health across the system. Develops and maintains a strong partnership with physician, hospital and ambulatory operations leadership.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Administration or related field. Bachelors or Masters degree in nursing preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience managing a health care facility that includes experience and knowledge of hospital, medical practice and ambulatory management, operational structure systems and ambulatory policies, procedures and processes. 
  • 3 years of management experience in management of staff, budgets and multiple ambulatory functions in a behavioral health setting. 
  • Demonstrated leadership skills including project management, process improvement, problem solving, decision making, prioritization, delegation, team building, customer service, and conflict resolution.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to successfully and positively interact with physicians and employees at all levels throughout the organization and the public.
  • Strong financial analysis and management, long range planning, and negotiation skills.


  1. Oversees the behavioral health ambulatory and hospital based operations in collaboration with regional leadership and in conjunction with hospital leadership for the market or specialty throughout the system, ensuring a high level of productivity, service and quality. Continually monitors functionality of the regional behavioral health operations and services, and revises operational strategies as needed. Serves as a liaison to corporate and hospital departments that provide and/or support these behavioral health services.
  2. Responsible for the management of efficient operations, systems and programs that provides for quality behavioral health patient services and overall patient satisfaction. Responsible for resolution of any provider and patient concerns that are not resolved at a regional leadership level.
  3. Actively participates in the local recruitment process of physicians and advance practice professionals. Responsible for facilitating the assimilation of newly hired or affiliated physicians into the practice setting including but not limited to credentialing, orientation/training, practice setup, and post~integration follow~up.
  4. Establishes and maintains effective operational communications and working relationships with hospitals and/or markets, providers, physician and administrative leadership, and advanced practice professionals.
  5. Responsible for the implementation of organization and behavioral health operational service line initiatives to include, but not limited to initiatives focused on operational and financial improvements and patient experience and safety. Actively supports the organization's mission, vision, values and strategic initiatives. Develops and implements a system to ensure that established policies, goals and objectives are achieved.
