The Digital Design Specialist will be responsible for developing consumer~focused website landing page, designs, digital marketing and social media ads, website banners and more aligned to Advocate's digital and brand standards for desktop and our mobile first approach while employing advanced design techniques. All design elements must be visually engaging, utilizing interactive design concepts using HTML5 animation to help tell a visual story. The Digital Design Specialist will work with marketing service line leaders, the digital team and other internal and external stakeholders to understand key concepts such as our demographic and geographic targeting to design content that would engage with them to ultimate turn into a qualified lead and or conversion to a new patient appointment.  The Digital Design Specialist will work independently with service~line experts, clinicians and physicians to understand the goals and objectives of why they want to market their services in the digital space. This role is also responsible for staying current on trends and continuously reworking digital ads, banners and landing pages to ensure highest level of clicks, engagement and interaction to drive traffic to the Advocate website from Google and social media ads.
Additionally, this role may be asked to complete additional tasks, including but not limited to updating website content, creating new content sections on multiple CMS platforms, coordinating ongoing CMS updates and training, optimizing and A/B testing landing pages to support marketing campaigns, analyzing website statistics and data, overseeing interns' and freelancers' projects. This position will work in partnership with the Senior Design Specialist and as part of the digital services team, confidently managing and leading a variety of website design projects while interacting with marketing managers, subject matter experts and service line stakeholders. Furthermore, this position will independently manage vendor relations with various design platform tools to drive strategy for digital marketing ad design and development in a mobile first environment. The range and timeline of assignments will vary and projects will require fast turnaround and excellent organizational, prioritization and communication skills. Working alongside the system and site marketing and public affairs teams, this person will act independently to oversee design development and approve creative direction. Additionally, this role will oversee the design creative of two digital specialists and two interns within the digital team.


Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design or computer science or comparable work experience.
  • 3 ~ 5 years experience as a designer with several years of producing user experience websites.
  • Significant knowledge of the Adobe tools, brand designs, content management systems, following style guides and designing for mobile first experiences. Experience in designing for websites for mobile and desktop experiences.
  • Knowledge of user design experiences for a mobile devices.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Knowledge of web content management systems.
  • Proven experience using Adobe Photoshop.
  • Knowledge of HTML 5 programming language
  • Knowledge of CSS, HTML, JavaScript.
  • Proven experience using Google Analytics, Google Display ads and other Google related products.
  • Samples of online design work. n/a Ability to work extra hours and weekends to accommodate project needs, special requests and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects with short timelines under high pressure situations.
  • Regular travel to Advocate Health Care locations anywhere within Advocate's service area.
  • Participation in Advocate corporate sponsorship events.
