Position Requirements:
4 years OR experience as staff.
2 years supervisory experience in OR which includes budget management, management of intraoperative inventory, and capital procurement.
Associates Degree Required. ~PC skills

Strength and dexterity to move patients, handle equipment, and to move quickly from clinical unit
to clinical unit to fulfill job responsibilities.
Emotional resiliency and flexibility to deal with organizational changes, changing environments, and stressful situations.
Ability to verbally communicate via phone, in person, and via intercom.
Ability to work in environment with multiple sensory stimuli, with ability to prioritize and respond to these stimuli in an organized and professional manner.
Ability to physically respond to fire, trauma, disaster, and other codes in patient care settings, in units, and in non~adjacent locations.
Ability to travel to other hospital sites, corporate settings, and seminar locations as deemed necessary.
Ability to diffuse escalating communications by others (e.g., physicians, patients' families, co~workers).
Ability to process data into meaningful information for planning and evaluation of strategic tactics.

To facilitate the perioperative materials management, which supports ease of staff operations and quality patient outcomes through collaborative efforts with internal departmental and external departmental resources. Provides leadership for the management of perioperative materials functions and their outcomes as a primary resource to all clinical areas of surgical and ambulatory services:

Operating Room (OR)
Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
Same Day Surgery
Gastrointestinal Lab
Sterile Processing
Other hospital~wide support to areas such as the ED, Cath Lab, OB/Mother Baby

Accountable for the assessment, plan, and evaluation of a surgical materials management system, and the efficiency of the staff operations in Inventory and Supply Management.

Implementation of cost~effective materials management (MM) systems consistent with revenue/expense budget.
Facilitate the continuous improvement of perioperative continuity with regard to surgical material management and in support of clinical outcomes, staff operations, information, and financial systems.
Responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
Promotion of safety practices and management of risk with regard to materials, equipment.
Promotion of own professional development within the areas of leadership, teamwork and based on education, information, and feedback.
