Position Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Associate Degree Preferred
2+ years secretarial experience in a business office or similar.
Proficient with PC's, Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel.


Some analytical skills.
Ability to handle confidential information.
Good written and oral communication skills.

Ability to tolerate prolonged typing, sitting, and viewing computer screens.

Some calculator skills.
Extended office hours may be required.
Requires some lifting when filing, retrieving reports, and maintaining record retention storage area.
Ability to deal with stress, in an ever~changing healthcare environment.
Incorporates the provision of cultural and age specific needs while exhibiting communication skills necessary to interpret age specific responses. Primary interactions will be with adult and geriatric individuals.

If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis.

This position exists to provide administrative and secretarial support to the Advocate Medical Group physician practice and hospital based operations within the Cancer Center. This position also acts as the New Patient Referral Representative, processing new patient referrals and scheduling new patients per departmental guidelines. Provides miscellaneous Administrative Assistance as delegated by physicians and leadership.

Contributes to the Creticos Cancer Center's KRAs for patient satisfaction by adhering to behavioral standards and service expectations.
Promotes positive physician engagement by providing effective administrative assistance to all physicians and related practices in the Cancer Center.
Promotes positive associate engagement by adhering to Advocate's Standards of Behavioral Excellence and fostering an environment of teamwork.
Promotes positive clinical outcomes by providing effective administrative support to the Creticos Cancer Center.
Promotes the center's KRAs for funding our future by fulfilling accountabilities related to collecting accurate demographic information from patients.
Contributes to the center's growth by providing effective administrative assistance to promote our programs.

This position may require:
~Serving as a superuser for our electronic medical record and training new administrative and clinical staff on relevant functions.
~Serving as a superuser for our telephone system, working with Telecomm on maintaining our automated systems to best serve our callers.
