OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST II –  OUTPATIENT THERAPY

  • Full - Time - 40 hours/week

 

Position Requirements:
Bachelors degree in OT from an accredited school of occupational therapy.

Licensed or eligible in the state of Illinois
Advanced training and / or certification in specific program area
2~3 years of clinical experience wit a minimum of 2 in area of clinical expertise
Meets the annual requirement for stroke education (2 hours per year) for OT's working with adult inpatients with stroke
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong communication and teaching skills
 Lifts 50 to 100 pounds occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds frequently and/or 10 to 20 pounds constantly.
This requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 08/01/2014. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis.

Purpose:
Assess and treats patients referred to the department for Occupational Therapy services. Responsible for a more clinically complex caseload than the Occupational Therapist. Assists with managing daily operations in assigned program area. Leads initiatives to improve program efficiency and quality. Coordinates daily operations with other PM and R program service areas.
