Position Requirements:
RRT and / or RCVT

5 years general radiology experience with 1~2 years procedural experience. Cardiac/Invasive preferred.

Licensed with the Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety

Experience with Digital Fluoroscopic Imaging, Contrast Injectors, Laser Cameras, Physiologic Monitors

Computer literacy

Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

CPR Certified

ACLS Certified within 6 months
of employment
Physical exertion (i.e: lifting and moving heavy patients and equipment, moving beds, holding site after the procedure, standing for long periods of time. Mental / emotional stress ~ patient becoming hemodynamically unstable, angina, potential for CPR or defibrillation. Potential radiation exposure requires wearing lead aprons, thyroid collars and lead glasses, (radiation exposure is monitored with badges). Potential exposure to bodily fluids requires use of Standard Precautions.

Ability to provide on~call coverage

Ability to function in a high stress environment



If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2017. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis.

Purpose:
Provide highly technical professional care to patients under going various
diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization/Interventional Radiology Lab. (The specialist is crossed trained between the two disciplines and competent to assist in both modalities).

Assist physicians in the performance of those procedures and in the
operation of technical equipment utilized during all procedures.

Function as a liaison for patients, patient's families and physicians.

The specialist is accountable for providing 24~hour coverage when
on call to ensure timely and appropriate patient care interventions.
