Advocate Medical Group is a physician-led medical group providing primary care, specialty services, medical imaging, outpatient services and community based medical practices throughout the Chicagoland and Bloomington/Normal.

Position Requirements:
Completion of NBRC accredited 2 year program in respiratory care.
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an acute care setting. Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work well with others.
Basic computer skills. BLS or ACLS.
CRT by the NBRC.
RRT and CPFT eligible. Ability to communicate well.
Ability to perform lifting and transferring related patient care.
Ability to move equipment for studies.
Exposure to harmful pathogens.
Ability to work in a fast~paced environment wit established time constraints.
Close attention to detail.
Use of a keyboard and video display terminal to enter, receive, retrieve and transform words or data and/or audit information and data continuously.
Sufficient auditory and visual acuity to interact with others.
Varied activities including standing, sitting, pushing, lifting, bending, stooping, twisting and reaching.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Possible travel and/or floating to other sites/departments.

If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis.

The Pulmonary Function Specialist is responsible for performing all Pulmonary Function Testing varied respiratory therapy modalities on adults in the office setting. The procedures performed include: PFT, spirometry, bronchodilator delivery, nebulizer treatments and CPX procedures. Provides interpreting physician with technical data to allow appropriate interpretation of the study for patient diagnosis. The Pulmonary Function Specialist is also responsible for providing clinical support to the physicians and performing both direct and indirect patient care with the patients seen.

Performs Pulmonary Function Testing and other respiratory therapy modalities.
Provides clinical support to the physicians and mid~level providers with the performance of direct and indirect patient care.
Participation in problem~solving issues addressing patients, department operations, quality assurance procedures and associate relationships.
Accountable for the proper operation of pulmonary function and respiratory equipment.
