Cardio Sonographer

Part time/32 hours per week

 

 

Position Requirements:
Minimum of 1 years of Non~Invasive Cardiology experience in Echocardiography.
Vascular ultrasound experience required/preferred; certification/accreditation for vascular testing such as, lower extremity ultrasound, carotid, abdominal, non-cardiac ultrasound
Demonstrated skills for advanced learning in echocardiology.

Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
Ability to work well with others.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail oriented.
Good organizational skills.

Basic Life Support (BLS) or ACLS preferred.

Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography Certification RDCS
Ability to communicate with patients.
Ability to perform lifting and transferring related to
patient care (in the category of medium ~ lifting
up to 20~50 lbs occasionally.)
Ability to move ultrasound equipment.
Exposure to ill patients.
Ability to work in a fast~paced environment with established time constraints.
Ability to make independent professional decisions pertaining to high quality patient care.
Must have a high degree of technical skills.
Ability to function with minimal assistance in performing job activities requiring good judgment, needs reliability, responsibility, independent and thorough.
Must be conscientious in practicing high quality patient care.
Position requires frequent movement of patients involving lifting, pulling, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling and stooping.
Normal or corrected normal vision and hearing.
Ability to read, understand and follow written/oral instructions.
Use a keyboard and video display terminal to enter, receive, retrieve, transform words or data and/or audit information and data continuously.
May be exposed to hazardous materials and life~threatening disease.
Radiation exposure.
Ability to handle occasional stress related to workload and customers.
Possible travel to other sites.

Accountabilities:
Accountable for proper and safe operation of equipment in the work environment.
Provides clerical functions necessary for physician's interpretation, department, records, and patient billing
Accountable for the performance and documentation of diagnostic studies performed in the echocardiography laboratory utilizing competent and proficient technical skills in the performance of cardiac and peripheral ultrasound and other testing offered following accreditation standards.
Compliance with adherence to all department safety standards to ensure patient's and staff's well being at all times.
Participation in problem~solving issues addressing patients, department, quality assurance procedures and associate relationships.
Maintains professional growth, self development, objectives, skill enhancement and commitment to the organization
