Position Requirements:
High school diploma
2 ~ 3 years experience working as a personal trainer in a commercial health club or hospital~based fitness center.
Strong communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Strong understanding of exercise physiology, strength training techniques, kinesiology, and exercise.
CPR/AED certified

Certification as a Personal or Pilates Trainer from any one of the following:ACE, ACSM, NASM, CSCS, ISSA, YMCA, Pilates Method Alliance, Polestar, Body Technic, Systems Inc., Pilates Institute of America, Balanced Body, or Bosi Pilates.
Highly energetic, motivated, resourceful and self~directed.
Strong ability to motivate others to initiate behavior change.
Ability to work with diverse groups and special populations.
Strong customer service orientation.
Ability to work collaboratively in team environments.
Ability to work varied schedules with rotating hours.
Innovative problem solving skills.


If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis.

Purpose:
To provide personal training services to Fitness Center members and guests. Responsible for reviewing client medical histories and program goals, designing individual exercise programs to meet those goals, implementing exercise programs, instructing and supervising workouts on a one~to~one basis, maintaining member training records and maintaining productivity records for Fitness Manager.

Accountabilities:
Implements workout plan and directly supervises individual exercise sessions.
Designs individual workout programs.
Maintains high level of customer, hospital associate and physician satisfaction regarding fitness programs, equipment and interaction with fitness associates.
Maintains member training records and productivity records for Fitness Manager.
